Overview

The Launch control module works as an additional rev-limiter by precisely controlling every ignition event. Allows flat-shift gear shifting – no need to let off the throttle, it protects the engine from over-rev while keeping the boost up.
Entirely configurable via 3 knobs:

  • RPM – set the rpm limit level
  • Delay – control ignition delay (higher setting will make the rev limiter louder and can let flames off the exhaust)
  • Miss – sets the number of skipped spark events (changes the sound of the engine during rev limiting)
Compatibility
The unit is compatible with many petrol engines. It’s been tested on many cars, some listed in the installation manual. The current version supports 5V operated coils or ignition modules. It does NOT work on any BMW or Renault/Citroen and DOES work on most VAG and Japanese cars.

What makes this product different is precision and quality. In order to achieve the desired performance the unit controls both ignition delay and ignition cut bringing this to user configurable level. Besides, due to the fast processor and smart programming, every ignition pulse is taken care of individually so that it never occurs too early (or randomly as with other products) which would cause “detonation”.
Configuration
The middle potentiometer sets the spark delay. The longer the delay, the louder it thunders and reproduces more fire. It is important not to overdo this setting because the launch control is designed to be as versatile as possible and for some engines the setting can be extremely aggressive. Maximum engine power and higher revs also play a role in achieving this effect.
Wiring and installation
The launch control unit comes with connector and 10sm long wires. They would have to be extended and connected to the appropriate wires going from the ECU to the ignition coils. The installation involves cutting OEM wiring and should be done professionally. If that’s not possible please check our ready made wiring below, which greatly simplifies installation.
